Abir has acquired 30 years of professional experience in Veterinary pharmaceuticals in India & Emerging markets. He started his career as a field sales executive with Merind Ltd (Merck) and gradually rose to become the CEO of Sequent Veterinary Formulations (Chief Marketing Officer – Alivira Animal Health), a start-up. In between he worked as GM- AHD for Wockhardt and India – Head of Sales & Marketing for Vetoquinol France. He turned around Wockhardt’s Veterinary division and took the company from under $6 million in revenues to $14 million, with profitability improvement to +56%, a remarkable improvement in Gross Margin. This led him to a start-up where he started the India Veterinary division in 2012 which is a global business today with customers all across the world.
Where collaboration became an integral part of all business today, Abir was the front runner for strategising In-licensing business in India way back in Yr 2003 for Veterinary formulations. This became his core strength as he built up strong relationship with several national & International contacts for tie-up and sourcing. In his illustrious career he has also developed strong customer relationship with many Key accounts in India and Emerging markets.
While in service, he realized that the market is strongly controlled by a few multinationals who are unwilling to co-creating and bringing in cost effective value-added products to address the gaping underserved emerging markets. It is from this understanding Glamac was born in June 2017.
